Terms of service

The adult customer agreement

These terms govern use of Hallway Hero, operated by Andrew Hall in Florida, United States. You must be an adult authorized to establish the account and to use the service for the school or classroom you represent. Students do not enter this agreement by using a classroom kiosk.

Use requires school authorization and any agreement, notice, or consent required for your situation. Do not import student records until those requirements are satisfied. Acceptance here does not establish FERPA school-official status or substitute for a signed district data agreement. Contact hello@hallwayhero.app to arrange school review.

Permitted use and account security

Use the service for lawful educational hall-pass management and school-authorized reporting. Keep credentials and teacher controls private, grant access only to authorized people, secure shared devices, and promptly report suspected misuse. Do not bypass access controls, test other classrooms without authorization, publish student information, or interfere with the service.

Use short names and only the identifiers needed for approved school workflows. Do not include medical explanations or unnecessary sensitive details. Hallway Hero is not an emergency response, physical supervision, or student-location guarantee. Staff remain responsible for student supervision and decisions.

Trials, subscriptions, and cancellation

Any offered trial and annual subscription price are shown in the service before purchase. A trial does not itself authorize an automatic charge. Subscribing starts a charge immediately through Stripe; an annual subscription renews yearly unless cancelled through the available billing controls. Review the checkout amount and renewal terms before authorizing payment.

Cancellation stops future renewals according to the billing information shown for your subscription. Already-paid access and remaining trial time are reflected in the account. Complimentary access is discretionary and may have an expiry. No refund, fixed price, or uptime guarantee is established by these terms; contact support about payment concerns.

When trial or paid access ends, new passes may pause. Recording safe returns and accessing existing reports remain available under the service's access controls. Billing must not invent student returns or erase outstanding outings.

School records and instructions

Schools and authorized educators retain control of the educational records they submit. You authorize the limited processing necessary to provide, secure, support, and recover the service. Hallway Hero does not acquire a right to sell student records or use them for unrelated advertising or profiling.

Use authorized export tools before ending service when records must be retained. Request correction, return, or deletion through a verified school representative. Backup generations may retain earlier records until expiry; active deletion is not immediate erasure of every historical copy. A signed school agreement may specify additional obligations.

Service changes, suspension, and termination

Features may change and interruptions can occur. Access may be restricted for security, misuse, legal requirements, or loss of authority. Contact support to coordinate appropriate record access and outstanding student-return workflows. Do not rely on the service as the only copy of records your school must preserve.

Ending an account does not remove payment obligations already incurred or immediately erase separately retained security, billing, and backup records. The operator and school should coordinate access removal, exports, and retention.

Limitations and school agreements

No particular uptime, fitness for a school's legal obligations, or uninterrupted availability is promised. Schools should review the service, security configuration, and recovery evidence before adopting it. These terms do not claim statutory certification or waive rights that applicable law does not allow to be waived.

School-specific data, procurement, incident, and retention obligations should be documented in a separate agreement with the operator. For agreement questions, contact hello@hallwayhero.app.

Version notices

The service records the version of these terms accepted by an adult account. Updated terms may require a new acknowledgment. Account notices do not block safe student returns or access to existing reports. Historical versions remain available from the version link below.
